My 2003 M45 is displaying that I have a flat tire, TPMS light is on in the dash. There is a series of very loud and annoying warning beeps coming from somewhere in the dash. This lasts for sometimes a few minutes, it's literally pissing me off so bad that I almost punched and smashed the display screen this morning. I'm barely awake on my way to work, this is the last thing I want to hear. (not a morning person)

HOW DO I COMPLETELY DISABLE THE TPMS SYSTEM? The entire system is complete s*** in any vehicle, every car that has them has problems/ false readings etc...If you are too lazy to look at your tires before getting in your vehicle, you shouldn't be driving. No way am I paying any sort of money to fix this. Again, HOW DO I DISABLE TPMS? Anyone know the specific wire that illuminates the dash light? Or does anyone know exactly where the stupid alarm speaker is? I will just cut power to it if I have to. Please help, I don't want to punch my M45 in the face.

I believe the sensor unit is mounted just behind the upper center console. If you pop off the console plate, it is a metallic box just behind the clock (if I recall correctly). I also think the beeper thing is part of that same box, so if you pull the cables to it, I assume it will quiet things down.

But- there may be other side effects to disconnecting this, so YMMV.

Also, one other thing- what part of the country do you live in? We just got our first cold snap this week, and my tire pressures dropped from 34-36 to 30-31 psi. These low-profile tires seem to be affected easily by temperature. The alarms may indeed be valid- have you actually checked the pressure?

Ok, thanks Max. I checked them a week ago, but I will definitely check them again. The system has been screwy since I bought the car a year ago, it has been doing this for a while. I might just unplug the sensor unit and see what happens.

This is kind of off topic, but is there any other option for front struts other than $250 each from the Scottsdale Infiniti? I looked everywhere.

No, sorry, I have never found an alternate replacement for these. Still have not changed mine, either

I know the 06-07 M45 doesn't, but does the 03-03 M45 have a sensor in the spare? Some vehicles (I don't know about Nissan) signal TPMS when the spare is low, too.

hmm, I think the tire has to be rotating under load for those sensors to work..
