08 G35 journey sedan (17" wheels)

I'm looking for an extra matching wheel to use as a full sized spare on road trips. I had a full size spare with my 92 Q45 and it eliminated a lot of headaches and saved a lot of time.

This is my first car with TPMS so I have a few questions:

1) if the spare does not have a TPMS sensor, will the dash light go off if the spare is installed on one of the four corners and the wheel with the TPMS sensor is in the trunk?

2) if the spare DOES have a TPMS sensor will the light on the dash come on when the spare is installed and the original wheel is off the car? if so, is it because that particular sensor was not paired with the system?

3) where is the TPMS sensor located? on the inside of the valve stem? if I get a wheel without TPMS are there any holes to plug where the sensor belongs? or will a normal valve stem be enough?

If anyone has an extra matching wheel to sell let me know. Cosmetic condition is not important. Local pickup in Atlanta preferred. eBay is a headache.

On all vehicles 2008 and later, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) comes standard per federal law. TPMS measures the air pressure in each tire and alerts you if any tire loses 25 percent of its air pressure. This new system does have maintenance requirements. Whenever you replace your tires, rebuilding your sensor kit is advisable. This process replaces the old valve stem replacement in cars prior to 2008 without TPMS. You are going to learn this process of rebuilding the TPMS kit.

Here are links that can help you I think.. :)

1-light won't go off, spares don't have an active sensor.
3- the sensor is integrated into the valve stem.

The sensor sends a wireless signal, right? What device receives that signal? Is there a single receiving device which gets input from all 4 wheels, or is there a separate receiving device for each corner?

Also, I get tires from tirerack and go to an independent infinti/lexus shop in Atlanta (T3 automotive) to swap tires. Do they need to do anything special when changing the tires to avoid the TPMS light going off on the dash? Do the wheels need to stay in the same corner as before, or is that not important since the G35 system does not track individual pressure like M & Q? Will rotating tires at an independent shop trigger the TPMS light?

There is a reader in each wheel well. you can rotate with no trouble. It won't know. But its still best to rely on a simple gauge to check pressure.
