Took my 07 G35 to dealership to clear up TPMS light the other day. According to them they registered it. It got cleared, but after a few 10s of miles it came back. I am going to take it back to them.

I'd like to prepare myself ahead so that I wouldn't get ripped off. therefore I'd like to check if anyone has experienced this? All 4 tire pressure are only 0.5 psi less than the spec. What'll happene when the battery in the sensor has gone?

Sensors will eventually go out but I'm not sure how to check the battery level. I have to hit the dealership in my '07 sedan soon in order to get the 19's off my coupe re-registered as well. Not sure how much Infiniti will want to charge for a new sensor, I'm sure quite expensive. I've seen new ones on ebay asking over 150ea.

Why not just call and ask how much it will cost to replace a sensor parts + labor

I was charged $132.00 for the replacement sensor last January but the labor included the replacement of a caliper

What I am going to do is trying to reset/calibrate it myself first, have done it before. It's rather quick and simple. It only takes about 15, 20 min and a 10 min drive afterwards, faster than taking to them and wait for the service. If it doesn't work I can always go back to the dealership for further repair.

Is that using the connector under the steering wheel area of the dash and grounding it a number of times with the tires set at specific PSI?

Yes. I have posted a write up under the subject Reset 07 G35 TPMS here. You can refer the picture to find the connector. Mine hides pretty deep. You have to poke around behind the OBI diagnosis port to find it. Another thing is to get it into learning mode. I only made it a couple of times, but today, even I have tried a few times. I don't know it's the contact between and the connector. Since I paid for the work last time so I am going to take it to the dealership.

One think I noticed was that when I got the car back the pressure was 38, but the it's supposed to be 35. If they registered it at 38 then at 35, there will be 8.5% difference, I guess the TPMS can pick up such difference then light. Soon after I deflated it down to 35 from 38, the light came on.
I am going to have them check it too, make sure they calibrate it at 35.

Update, it is one of the sensors having a weak battery. I am going to leave it until the next time to replace the tires.
