For those who didn't read my response to the '"Jumpy Steering" thread,

Last week I rotated my tires and the TPM sensors went to "****". I did a forum search and saw a few varied responses about this. After driving a few short trips around my area, they remained offline, so I made an appointment with the dealer for tomorrow, to get the TPM's re-registered..

Yesterday I took a trip of about 100 miles and the monitors came back to life.

Odd...the TMPS should not cause any grief when rotating the tires, so long as the same 4 wheels are still on the car.

I would let the dealer know about that.

Steve the tech said that they are supposed to reset themselves, but they do not. I have read multiple threads where some reset themselves, but MOST do not. Who knows??

Mine reset themselves for the record.

Before I purchased my '06 M35X, the dealer swapped tires with a M45 sport and I had a **** readout. The dealer told me that it "just take time for them to reset". I drove about 200 miles and still had the **** readout. These were mostly short (<10 miles) trips. I made an appt to have the dealer look at the car. The day before my appt I took a longer trip (~50 miles), and magically about 40 miles in to it the readout started to display properly. I don't know if it just took almost 300 miles for the reset to happen, or if it just required a longer trip, but it finally happened.
