Ok everyone ... help me out here.. I just clicked on the Vert forums main page and saw an ad for a TOYOTA Corolla... Greg?? Seth?? is something going wrong here?.. Is the site in that much need that we NISSAN fans need to see ads from another car company?.. Just a bit confused..

Weird! It's Sewell Cadillac for me.

Nico needs money to run and maintain, so it's okay for me to see those ads. But, no way I'll buy a Cadillac.

Google is pressing forth certain ads (today it seems to be toyota). I remember a while back it was Geico at one time and there have been others as well. The other poster is seeing Caddy ads because he has CTS and XLR in his sig....

The ads seem to be slowing my browser down for some reason. I haven't really tried seeing if it's on my end or not, but I am running an old version of Mozilla. It tends to not like certain things at times.

It seems to be ads on what cars you were looking for before. Or what you are interested in and search for the most. Have any of you been a toyota fan!

No Toyota searchin here.... or Caddy's for that matter.. did't mean to be a whistle blower... I wonder how many NICOnauts would be willing to pay for a "Premium" membership... (ie custom or larger sigs, photo storage..etc).. just a thought.. hell I already bought 4 t-shirts and 2 windshield banners... I'm gonna have a wardrobe of NICO stuff if I keep going..lol

YES!!!

Sorry about the ads... it's just part of business at NICO. Gotta pay the bills for all the hosting and servers, etc... We contract Google ads for ad space, and they chose what to display. We do have some discretion I think.. but we'd reserve that for ads that are distasteful. (though you may think Toyota is just that... lol).

I don't like the premium feature as other sites use it. It only serves to segregate the population and hide valuable information behind closed doors. Seems to be the antithesis of what a public open forum should be.

However, if we could set up a template for premium members that would only serve to eliminate the advertising.. then perhaps that would be a cool idea. On the other hand.. I think the layout of our site keeps the ads from getting too obnoxious. Or am I just used to it??

LOL Dex.... You have to buy a bunch as you missed last year... They seem to last me about a year...hmmm.. I think that maybe there is a chip sewn in that make the shirt shrink right at a year... no wait, maybe I'm just getting fatter each year..lol..

Actually Seth.. I think the ads are ok as long as the content is relavant to our hobby... actually this was the first time I noticed the odd ad. I think maybe a poll of some other features people might like to see or be willing to pay for would be a good place to start... just a thought
