My '08 G35xS will need new all seasons this fall so I've been doing a lot of research through this forum and Google. So many choices that I'm favoring the tires that have worked for me in the past. I ran the Proxes 4's on my BMW and loved the, I drove through 2 North Coast winters with 180lbs of sand in the trunk and they cut through the snow fairly well. My mechanic recommends the Versado but I don't know much about them.

Any thoughts?

I got Hankook's on mine last fall, and they have done fine. Made it through the CO winter just fine. Granted, we didn't have a wet winter like you did out east, but we got enough to not feel unsafe driving it. I would take it when the wife took the big a** 4X4 instead.

If it's slippery out, stick it in "snow", and go. I only had it in snow mode a couple times, as the system transfers over to all-wheel seamlessly.

You weren't planning on putting sand in the back of the G, were you?

Also, others on this forum have had good reviews of the Proxes. Would be confident using them as well. haven't tried them personally...stick the word "proxes" in the search window at the main part of this forum.

I put sand tubes in the trunk of my old BMW because it was RWD, I scared the crap out of myself on a few snowy drives to work before I put them in. I decided to go with an AWD mainly because of that. The Proxes flat out Rocked on that car for about 20,000 miles though, after that they started losing their grip in the rain and I eventually had to replace them to make it through the third winter. No regrets though, I loved the feel and they served me well. I now live in a semi-rural area where branches on the road are common after a storm, I'd like a tough tire with a little more rubber without sacrificing performance.

I've run the Proxies in my 05 G35 coupe. They were a decent tire...no real complaints. I went with Yokohama S-Drives next and they were a little bit better IMO. Not as noisy on the road and more grip.
