Anyone have an experience with them? A few Audi guys I know swear by them. I'm thinking about trying them when my current tires wear out.

Yeah, they are badass tires. Everybody knows this. Don't plan on daily driving them though, unless you are a total badass. They are super soft and will wear out fast because they are a track tire.

That's the application I'm planning for them. I was talking with a friend the other day who owns a Audi TT who put a tow hitch on his car and brings his mounted RA1's to the track on a mini trailer. Got me thinking about buying a set of track tires, and finding a similar hitch setup for my car.

If you haven't tracked it before, most people reccomend starting out on a less aggressive tire. Supposedly you learn better if you start out on a slightly less sticky setup because you have less room for error.

RS2s or Azenis 615s might be a better first choice from what i have heard.

I teach HPDE so driving on R compounds isn't an issue. It's more about choosing a make/model of Rcompound if I go that direction. Thanks.

Love using them ---Good traction, very predictable and communicate well. Even though they are an R compound --they do not wear like a V700, V710 or Hoosier. You can get lots of life. If you want them for Dry and rain weather I suggest shaving to 6/32 ( they come 8/32 stock) --or go to 4/32 if you only run them in the dry.

Hankook has some leftover R compounds they are selling off cheap. I think they are the Z211's ---if my Toyos weree'nt still good I would 'v e looked into themhttp://www.frisbyracetire.com/z211sale.html
