Summary of what I know:

OEM Wheel:Aluminum 17x8JJOffset .79" (20mm)

Bridgestone Dueler H/T (OEM)245/65R17 105STire Diameter 29.5"Section Width 10" RPM 706 Tire Weight 32lbs UTQG 180 B B

Toyo Proxes S/T255/60R17 110VTire Diameter 29.0"Section Width 10.2" RPM 717 Tire Weight 37lbs UTQG 420 A A

Toyo Proxes S/T275/60R17 111VTire Diameter 30"Section Width 11" RPM 694 Tire Weight 39lbs UTQG 420 A A

Toyo Proxes S/T275/55R17 109VTire Diameter 28.9"Section Width 11.1" RPM 720 Tire Weight 38lbs UTQG 420 A A

The Deuler H/T's wear fast, and are only good for dry driving. I can't wait to try these new tires, I'm sick of slipping in rain and snow. The only pros about these tires are that they have a very soft and quiet ride. I've had these tires on my 98 (60k miles) 01 (50k miles) and it's time for a change.

Any idea on this comment on getting wider tires:"Also, on cars with McPherson strut front suspension, there's a very real possibility that the tyre will foul the steering linkage on the suspension. Check it first!" (http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbible ... bible.html)

QX4's do have this type of suspension, so that did shy me away from the wider 275/60R17's and 275/55R17's. I would like the extra 1" in width, but does anyone have any experience if it does foul the steering linkage?

The 255/60R17 are the closest you can get to the OEM size so speedo difference is the least.

To me the changes look pretty small, but I really don't know anything about tires and the physics of it. The 275/55R17's are widest and smallest in diameter. I'm pretty sure I'll either get the 275/55R17 or 255/60R17. Can anyone help me chose which one they would get?

Thanks, I really appreciate it.
