Toyo Observe GSi-5

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Anyone here have much experience with the Toyo GSi-5? http://www.toyotires.ca/tire/pattern/observe-gsi5

The apa had the following to say about the older model:
Toyo Observe G-02 Plus Price: $140
Tire optimized for deep snow and ice. One of the best choices at any price even though it is not the best performer on cleared or wet roads and can be noisier than average in some applications. Superior durability due to the deep tread and relatively long-wearing rubber compound. Well suited for heavy vehicles. This tire is being phased out in favour of the Toyo GSi-5, and APA predicts some excellent close-out prices. Mail-in rebate of $30 to $80 based on the tire diameter when you buy four tires.

Group buy on rfd had this to say about it:
Toyo Observe GSi-5 or Toyo Garit KX
If money is no object, and there is no budget, LOOK NO FURTHER. My personal guarantee that they will be the best snow tire you ever own... They are great in snow, ice, slush, even DRY !!! If Toyo had as big of an advertising budget as Blizzak's, they would be much more popular... Best Japanese snow tire hands down. 4-5 years to be expected.

Looks promising.

Be the first to try them out.

Me personally... I'm staying away from Uni-directional tires, cause they seem to wear funny on a EX35.

I like to rotate my Tires in a "X" fashion, rather than "Front to Rear/Rear to Front".

EXceptional,

I ordered a set of the GSi5's and will report back after it snows....

Thanks for sharing the info on the center caps. I ordered "40343-5P215" and they seem to fit very nicely with the Nissan wheels I got off ebay (I think they were similar to the ones you ordered a few mo's back - if not the same)
