I'm finally looking to replace my '04 Pathfinder, and the Armada and Sequoia are on the top of my list. Will probably get a 2014 or 2015 when we pull the trigger later this year.

We're not too far from the Rocky Mountains and we're in the market for a moderately sized travel trailer in the next few years. Looking for a trailer with 5000 lbs of dry weight plus water and gear for two adults and two little kids. Both SUV choices will probably have no issues towing that across the Alberta prairies; not certain about performance in the mountains, though.

For towing anything above 2000 lbs with a Pathfinder, we'd always recommend an aux transmission cooler and rear air suspension kit over on the Pathfinder / QX4 forum. Any words of advice or experiences towing a trailers with the Armada / QX56, be it in mountains or just flat land? Would love to hear about it.

I have an 11 qx56. It's a beast and tows the steep grades of US 6 with ease. I tow 5K regularly

I've did my research on towing prior to my purchase today and from what I'm getting the armada can hang with the big boys when it comes to towing. My buddy has a 06 and tows an average of 3 atv with a trailer weighing in over 1500lbs. We usually ride in West Virginia and it's pure mountain territory he's never had any issues .
