Hey guys,
I need help for a friend of mine.
He just had a track event in South Jersey and ended up totaling his Evo :frown:
Needs someone that can tow his car back home and won't take advantage of the situation. It's about a 130 mile ride.
He could really use NICO's help on this one.

Thanks guys

AAA Premier Membership

In addition to AAA Plus benefits, you can upgrade your membership to AAA Premier which provides one tow up to 200 driving miles per household, a complimentary rental car for one day (in conjunction with an authorized tow in Alabama), and home lockout service. AAA Premier also provides $1,500 Trip Interruption coverage, 24-hour emergency travel and medical assistance, and personalized concierge services, when traveling more than 100 miles from home, plus much more.

Find someone with it willing to give you their tow.. then give them $300 for being nice to you... that tow will cost a fortune if paying cash.
I have this but I need my annual tow incase something goes south at Carlisle which is a long trip.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone with AAA. He's been asking around to but to no avail so far :-/

I dont understand how people do not have AAA.... especially if you put yourself in a situation where you are driving long distances and put yourself in a spot where you may need help (a car that doesn't run perfect)... Learning a valuable lesson now...

Start off with asking parents (people over 40) as they usually have the insight to purchase things like this!

Why not just have your friend sign up for AAA premier right now?

From Vineland to Hackensack. How much do you think it would be?

Without AAA, my guess would be at least a few hundred dollars. The 130 miles is one way. The towing company might expect portal-to-portal, meaning the mileage begins/ends from the yard where the flatbed is stored. So if the tow truck company is based in vineland, you might be talking 260 miles + tolls (both ways, and class 2 rates).

Yeah, he found a guy that will do it for $450. Which isn't bad by all standards. I just feel bad for him. First track event and totals the Evo. :-/

That is sad to hear. What kind of event was it?

Full course track day. He got the signal to overtake, hit the throttle, track was either wet or oily, rear broke loose right before a turn and lost it against a barrier. Car is totaled :(

Ouch. At least he walked away from it. Was it on thunderbolt or lightning?

I've gone on a couple of agricultural expeditions on Thunderbolt.

I'm not really sure. But yeah... I would have hopes his first track experience was a little more pleasant...
