Hi all,

The q comes standard with a towing hitch that is rated to tow 8500 lbs. On the infinite website, they have a weight distrib hitch as an option. I would like to pull a car hauler trailer totaling 5600lbs.

Question 1. Do I need to purchase the optional hitch, if so does it replace the factory hitch?

Question 2. will the hitch bumper cover work with the optional hitch?

I wish I had better advice, but I think that is a great question for the dealer, they should certainly have the answer to the question. Also, what does it say in the owner's manual?

I haven't used one but from what I've seen, the factory receiver does not need replacement. The weight distribution system is part of the ball mount assembly and basically has arms that push up on the trailer as the trailer pushed down on the ball. I would probably look to purchase it elsewhere though as its likely to cost more from the dealer. And you can look at the different systems and buy the one you like most. Depending on cost and budget, you might want to have your trailer's tongue weight on hand to make sure the one you get is adequate.
