Towing capacity is ZERO if you want to keep the car in top condition,as any towing will damage the rear subframe, which is rubber isolated with silicon filled bushings.rent a truck if need be,it will be cheaper in the long run!

The owners manual says 1000lbs., but I would take qships advice as I can see that happening. I guess just tow in a pinch.

There is a towing capacity listed in the owner's manual, but never a towing hitch offered. Great way to wear out the rear subframe bushings prematurely.

Yeah.. I tihnk a good rule of thumb is if you cant pull it yourself, then dont pull it behind the Q...

Rear subframes arent cheap!

Going back and forth across this country, I've seen Metros and Cavaliers pulling huge trailers full of stuff. Scary. I wonder how they go over a 2% grade?

I wonder how they get back DOWN. Brakes. BRAKES! Only designed for a 35 lb car!

Thank goodness for runaway truck ramps.

TRANSMISSION and its 4th gear TC lock up clutch cycling its life away with the extra load............ever notice how much even the unloaded Q cycles at 50-55 mph on slight inclines mild accelerations with AC on.............not enough torque at low rpms........a fact of life with 4 valve per cylinder engines.

Why it is best to keep it in 3 until at least 60 mph, unless it is perfectly flat (or downhill), ambient less than 100° F and speed is constant.
