Ok i know this is going to sound stupid but i have to ask.

I am going to be moving soon gotta tow my 240 with me, however the trouble i am running into is every place i look i.e. uhaul, budget, penske, and others, all say that the auto towing equipment they have you cant use a 240sx with. so i am stumped is this true?

or for that matter any insight on what i can use to tow it would be great.

Thanks guys :bigthumb:

well you can get an actual trailer and bring it that way. Or you could get a car dolly, and pull the driveshaft off the car.

I've used a U-Haul rental trailer many times for my 240s. Since when do they care what kind of car it is? You shouldn't have a problem there at all.

I would advise not using a car dolly as well.

No way i would use a dolly. My plan was to get the full transporter so no needed wear on chassis or tires while moving, they do require you to give which model you are taking on it. which i find odd that the 240 isnt allowed on either type, so i might just lie and put down the wife's camry and throw the 240 on there anyway, just wanted to make sure i wouldnt run into any troubles with it first.

Thanks guys for the help.

Ahahahaha i was hoping for the same thing. Or where do i put the trailer hitch....
I to had problems with Uhaul telling me I couldnt put my 240 on their trailer. Just went to another place and said was a different car. I brought it home 100 miles on a uhaul trailer with no problems.

Maybe all the Uhaul places think a 240 is a truck... I mean we DO have a truck engine. =P

I had towed my 240sx shell between cities on a dolly. UHAUL tried to give me hell for it because its a rear wheel drive car. They thought it would mess up the transmission or driveshaft so they highly recommended i don't take the dolly. I put the car in neutral and drove it home.

They must not know what car you're talking about or thinking you're going to try and haul something with your 240. I'm a diesel technician for Penske and I know for a fact that the rental department underrates the rental trucks and trailers towing capacity due to liability reasons. You'll be just fine if all you're planning to do is throw your 240 into the back of one of those car trailers.

Well i came to a solution about it, i had forgotten the fact that im co owner of my grandfather's Uhaul business  ......... Yeah i know thats sad i forgot but give me a break :gotme ......... called up my dad told him to get an auto transporter ready and not to list what car i am hauling.

For the record though you can use the dolly but they recommend taking out the driveshaft when you do it.( I think Flicktitty brought that up), Also from best i can tell they dont like RWD vehicles. :bigthumb:

Is it bad that when I opened this thread I expected to see someone towing something with their KA?

Nah your not the first one, i am tempted to make like a custom hitch to attach so i can tow a small trailer like for luggage or something.

Found This one day on Jalopnik.com would kill to have one for myself to tow around.
