Hey i was wondering if anyone here has ever tried to install a tow hook on there cars. sort of the ones like these http://www.weaksauceparts.com/store/pro ... t=0&page=1

I personally, PERSONALLY, think it would look somewhat cool on my coupe. So if u dont like the idea there is no need for u to start flaming me.

But yea you guys think it could be done? :cartman:

Could it be done? Sure. Could I paint my car pink and add tons of stickers and a 4 foot spoiler? Sure. *Should* either be done? Probably not.

this is the internet. the masses must approve. unless your car is a dedicated track machine, that s*** is poser crap and completely useless. i'd normally say to save that stuff for the civics, but....

u should go for it, don't worry about what other ppl think. I mean, we have CF, led's, spoilers, decals, tinted tails...all these are purely aesthetic. Be the 1st w/a tow hook and post a pic! It's not like ur installing a Super wing spoiler.

But there's a reason no one else has done it. I'm leaning towards it not being a good idea...

If you want to do it, go for it. Your money. Your car. But expect to get flamed for it. The general car forum populace recognizes how worthless the idea is, so they'll flame. Unless it's a track car, which I'm doubting.

Do you plan on getting towed by it? Like are you going to wreck on a racetrack? Idk... they look cool on race cars??

yea theres always someone out there that has to b**** about new ideas, But yea damn near all of us have the same stuff as others.

Whats the difference between underglow on our cars and underglow on a civic?

I wanna get a purple tow hook (just to go with different color flows)

The only problem is i need to figure out how i would be able to mount them !

Let me clarify, I'm not bashing the idea because it's different. I'm bashing it because it's lame. If someone came in here posting about lifting their car so they could fit 26s on it I'd bash that as well.

CF, spoilers, and decals, are not MEANT to be aesthetic, although they can be and in 99% of cases on the AC and other autos they are. This thread is about a purely FUNCTIONAL piece that is not going to be functional and has no aesthetic value whatsoever. If OP really wants it, make it yourself and save $100...more power to you if you think it looks nice. Others will not agree with you and then you will be unique. Godspeed....

Honestly, can you explain how a decal is not meant to be aesthetic. Maybe there are some new decals that add 5HP to your car that I'm not aware of. Also, if you add a CF hood and a spoiler and think you will get any real noticeable and chartable performance gains from them, you are a sucker.

Uh... :poke:

My guess was referencing decals from a sponsorship standpoint. That would make them aesthetic, but also give access to discounts/freebies that would improve performance. Just my guess though.

Thank you Apple. Let alone sponsorship, plaster a decal on your ride and you are a rolling ADVERTISEMENT. If you have decals from mods YOU paid for, then you are paying the manufacturer twice. If you are sponsored and have decals, well then thats what you are getting free mods from, your willingness to advertise the company hooking you up. Its not there to look good, its there to get a name out and make someone money. Trust me, this is what I do for a living, you have NO IDEA how much is poured into promotion and advertising.

As far as me being a sucker and CF/spoilers...Im not even necessarily talking about the AC my man. Do a little research on the weight of carbon fiber VS metal (any metal, pick one, anything metallic) and the FUNCTIONAL use of spoilers on real race cars and then call me a sucker...

I must be missing something because when I read it say s "CF, Spoilers, and decals are not MEANT to be aesthetic" That means they are meant to be something else right?

All I will say on the subject is that your money is better spent on something different. I don't understand the tow hooks on these daily driven cars around here.

Whats important is individuality. If you like it then I say go for it. Thats all that matters.
