When I first joined this group if anyone had asked me if i would tow anything with a cvt tranny i would have instantly shut them down telling them they were crazy but after 3-4k miles I've put on this replacement transmission i feel comfortable in thinking about getting a hitch installed to haul around a small 4x8 trailer. I have a 15 frontier pro4x to do truck stuff with but it gets half the mileage i get with the rogue lol. Does anyone have any imput on either one of my options listed below?

Have a large tranny cooler installed and new fluid and filters i will be changing @ 20k intervals as cheap insurance.

I've installed Draw Tites on several customer cars including a gen2 Rogue, as well as two personal vehicles. They're well made and I had no fit problems with any of them.

Not that this is a free plug, but you might consider adding one of my widgets:

Ended up buying a reese hitch with a 2" reciever and went to install it and surprise surprise the welded nuts in the frame on the left side were all a rusty mess lol. will try and retap the threads with a 12x1.25 tap if that does not work i will try and punch them out and use either 12x1.25 rivnuts or 1/2 carriage bolts with rectangular washer/ spacers through the inside of the frame.

Never had any real problems with Reese, either. Riv nuts aren't the greatest idea for a high-load application like that. The second approach is better, even if you need to make a hole or slot in the side of the frame member to work the hardware inside.

that did run through my mind about the rivnuts so i'll try the second method if the tap does not work lol.

Just an update: the 3 hitch bolt holes were able to be cleaned/rethreaded with a 12x1.25 tap. hitch was mounted up WITHOUT needing to drop the exhaust like all the videos said to do. The wiring for the hitch was simple enough using the following curt hitch wiring kit

https://www.amazon.com/CURT-56033-Custo ... C93&sr=8-1

I was able to use the existing Nissan wiring for the 12v feed using the factory tow wiring plug under the plastics by the spare tire on the left side, the bigger of the two wires was live once I added a fuse to the "trailer" slot in the fuesbox under the intake snorkle.
