I'm assuming that is a Mitsu MightyMax V6 4X4. I would rebuild that sweet little thang!

My cash is going into rebuilding the engine and some body work on the Mazda 4X4. Those little Mitsubishi pickups are awesome. A buddy of mine has two, well one is actually a Dodge Ram 50, but it's the same truck in every way.

Go with the truck... you've got tohave a good truck for weekend fun!

I was going to say 240 and swap but 4k? then I thought restore the mightymax, but restoring to the pinnacle of 1986 technology... seems a little dicey. SCHOOL!!!!

Honda.

Get something cheap, put a couple HP boosters on it, and have some left over for school. You end up being responsible, and having a decent car to drive in.

The MiteyMax is my '86Maxima. Other possibilities included: Buy a motorcycle and the seemingly popular around here DSM.

I had a 1st generation MR2 NA ,and it was kool! For the month I had it (16 years old) and then we moved to VA. My friend had 2 2nd gen MR2s, they are a BLAST to drive. They are the closest thing to driving a go kart (espically a 85-89) you can find them for 2,000 in ASWOME condition probally 2-3,000 for a started to mod on. They also last a LONG time, over 200,000 with no maitence. check out http://www.mr2ownersclub.com

wouldnt go with a VW if your plaiing to go to school , money will be tight and if its anything like this GTI i drive everyday it will be a money pit , this weekends plug wire failure was 200 bucks to get new wires

Mr2 would be fun ......dont do anything to brash or the reliablity will surely suffer

The longer you put off school, the more it'll cost you. The longer you wait to buy a car, the less it'll cost you. PlusSchool is an investment that you will recoup. A car is not. If you're living at school and must have a car, bear in mind the MR2 is a SMALL car with very little luggage space. Think about where you'll put your dirty laundry when you bring it all home on the holidays. Won't fiit in an MR2. A 240sx, yeah, a Maxima, sure. Food for thought
