Car: Fixing problems with my car!

Post

I live in the Chicagoland area so lately the weather has been getting cold. I have a basically stock SR and now when I start the car, it will pretty much die instantly. I have to give some gas to keep it running. Also, within the last week and a half or so, there has been a weird knocking sound at start up for the first second or two. Other than that it runs fast and strong when it's warmed up. Any ideas or suggestions would help a whole lot. If anyone could suggest anything I could adjust or replace, let me know. Thankx in advance.

winter is coming up so id park it. it seems like there are alot of people who have a hard time starting in the winter. I do... that is why it is a warm weather only car.

That actually was kind of the sound it makes. It will knock about two or three times and then either stay on as it should or die. It is troubling though because I have a friend of mine who has no issues like this during the winter. I suppose I should have thought of a winter car earlier; my own stupidity I suppose. Thanx for the help.
