On my 2017 Rogue, the outer film on the touchscreen is flaking off. Anyone seen anything like this? Is it repairable? If you need to zoom in, use this image. https://postimg.cc/cvGhSD75

Thanks

I found this on ebay. Might give this a shot and see if it will work. It says for Panasonic, just not sure what mine is yet.

Got the head unit out of the dash and its made by BOSCH (7612051389), so the one I ordered won't work :gotme

I was able to get the LCD display out of the unit.

The screen is actually made by SHARP (LQ070Y5DG36). I did not have any luck finding where I could order just a new screen. I found the entire display for $75 on Amazon. That is too much, so I think I will just remove the anti-glare coating and polish it smooth. I found all sorts of information searching for "anti-glare coating removal" and "UV film removal". Its a pretty common problem for all LCD displays.

Since I already have the 7in screen that is for the Panasonic, I thought I would try it and just see if it would work. So I took off the original digitizer from the Bosh unit and replaced it with this one (7in Digitizing Touchscreen ). Let me save you some time and money.... This does not work. :nono: :nono:

I really thought/hoped that it would. It looked promising because the cable on the Panasonic digitizer actually fit the connector on the SMD, but no dice. The touch would work on the navigation, but flakey. On the radio presets, it would not recognize the touch on the preset keys.

I will be ordering the Sharp LQ070Y5DG36 and replace the entire LCD display. I found one here on AliExpress for $35 and here on ebay for $73.

I ordered the Sharp LQ070Y5DG36 from AliExpress. It came in yesterday and I installed it today. Was a direct replacement and works the same as the original equipment.
It was pretty straighforward, but I had to look at the Bose unit for a couple minutes to figure out how to get it opened. Here is a few pics of getting the touchscreen out of the head unit.

Steps:
1. Remove the (4) T8 screws in the corner of the head unit. The face plate will then seperate from the unit.

2. Now with the faceplate off, remove the (18) T4 Torx screws from the back of the face plate and the 3 twist lock pieces.

3. With the metal plate removed, next remove the main PCB by removing the (3) T4 bolts and unclip the three ribbon cables. The cables are released by gently lifting up the clamp that holds the cable down.

4. Now remove the main PCB and also the touchscreen behind it. The new touchscreen does not come with the metal mounting bracket, so you have to remove it from the old screen and place it on the new screen. There are three places that have double-side tape on it. I had to heat it with a heat gun to get it to turn loose without causing any damage to the metal bracket.

5. Going back together, I used 3M #300LSE double sided tape. You can use whatever you have, but it should not be any thicker than the original tape.

6. Before placing touchscreen into frame, be sure to remove the protective film. The reassembly should be the reverse of the previous steps.

7. Head unit back in dash. Works perfectly.
