I know talking about other boards, etc. But for so many years that board was up, now you click on anything and SQL error. Did Morgan finally cash it in?

It's never coming back. No one cares enough. Most of the people who made it what it was have moved on to better cars. Many who used to post all the time don't even visit the other forums any more because they're sick of getting stupid questions from new users. Z31performance is the most active Z31 board right now. But more and more people are going to facebook groups rather than post on message boards.

....and with the harsh treatment of newbies, they don't stick around = no new members + fewer old members = downward spiral. Z31 was a great resource, really helped me alot when I got my first Zcar in the late 90's. It will be missed. R.I.P. Z31.com

That is what I figured, I still have my old 84' in great shape...but I stopped using the board as it became a bunch of punk kids who were jerks. But I was still surprised that it was finally out.

I got a hell of a lot of good advise from that site but not for a long time.

The message board died after some virus infected the site. Morgan and Devster got out of it a long time ago. The person who maintains the site now just hasn't cared enough to worry about it and no one is really pressuring him to get it up and working again.

I know I saw there was a virus.....too bad as for many years I got very valuable information off there as fought gremlins in the old girl. Today most of them are under control and between you and Evil there isn't anything I cannot find the answer to :). But that was one of the first boards I really ever used in the web and owed lots of answers and a few group buys to that site.

Hey, Go Sun Devil's, I am an ASU alumni, will be out there for the ASU vs. UofA game this year!

Any idea who has it now? I could have all of the content cleaned up and re-hosted for you guys in a matter of days, if that's what it takes.

OR, we could just make this place bigger and better.

We're not going anywhere. :)

I wish we had a mechanism on this site like they had at Z31 to put up a lot of content. They have always had to link other places to do that. But I agree with we can wake this site up that would be great. Besides you, Evilsky and I don't see a lot of frequent fliers. I started with this site in 2000 when I picked up my 97' Q and it has been super helpful, seems like the Q45 part of the board is the most busy although I can see that winding down as people no longer want to put money into these older cars.

Well, our Z forums have been the fastest-growing part of the site over the past 60 days - That's a good stat!

As you guys browse the forums, always be on the lookout for potential staffers - We're always moving folks in and out, and need dedicated people who don't mind cranking out an article here and there, answering questions, and reaching out to the community.

Probably have to be nice or diplomatic to idiots, right? Because I would fit your original list of requirements. ;)

You could be nice :) I think that most of the posts up here on this board are not like the darker says of z31.com where you needed to speak fluent ghetto to understand what people wanted. Agreed that there are very few nice z31's left so most are being pulled off the scrape heap......that is why when I drive my 84' people struggle to even know what it is anymore. and the 84' was the single best selling year Z car of all time.

I could be. For a little while. Then I'd see the same morons being coddles and spoon fed and I'd get pissed off an either go off on them publicly, ban their stupid asses, or delete all their posts until they complained to Greg about how bad the Nazi regime is here. I've been a mod on a few different websites (besides Z31.com) and can only "tone it down" for so long. After a while, the stupid gets to me and I lash out. I actually quit going to one of the forums for so long I missed a check-in and lost the privs. Didn't care much since the Z31 group was slow there as well. I was also told by another forum that they'd rather have me as a "member" than a mod so that they wouldn't have to justify me being a mod. Easier to justify an a** hole member than an ***hole moderator.

It's a good thing Paul isn't held to his those standards in all areas of life.

We all have our own areas of stupid... I don't judge folks because their stupid is different from my stupid.

I've said this for 12 years now: When people spout off "SEARCH" or expect n00bs to catch on quickly, the forums become a library - and libraries are boring.

If we stuck to the Z31.com model (or any number of other forums that allow that kind of nonsense), we would have stopped growing a long time ago.

I appreciate what everyone brings to the table, and I know full well there are folks out there with vast amounts of knowledge that I wish we could bring on board as staff... But my integrity is worth more than that, and everyone here knows I don't tolerate a$$. It's non-negotiable.

For what it's worth, I like Paul, and sometimes I wish I could say the things he says. :)
