Well, my 720 was totaled this morning in a twelve car pile-up on the interstate. Yeah, TWELVE. We got it towed to my house and we're going to start cutting and repairing; needs new fenders, hood, subframe, bumper, valance, etc. I'll post more and pics later.

My first accident just happened to be a twelve car pile up on a major interstate at 8:00 in the morning while on the way to school. Great way to start off the day!

Ouch ! That sucks ! Dont look too bad, deffinately fix her up . Are you gonna use aftermarket parts or used from the junk yard ? Ive been to junk yards in Alabama and they want an arm and a leg for truck parts ! I dont know if there is a huge price difference in aftermarket parts out by you but ive priced a hood for $ 50 fenders and bumper $ 30 each at a local parts supplier here in Chicago . LOL my truck is from Huntsville Al. and thank goodness, there is no rust on it !!!

man replacing every thing will really suck the mounting brackets for the fenders and grill bumper every thing is gone the cap might be ok but your gonna have to replace the whole front end pretty much or go and rig it as you go i had to unbend alot of brackets to get my fender back on and my grill i had to go and come up with a creative way to get it on

Well..

The truck is basically done for. So, I have two, maybe three, options:

1) Buy something else.

2) Attempt to fix the 720, which there's an 85% chance it won't turn out right.

3) Buy something else, but still work on the 720 basically starting from scratch.

Sorry to see the damage, but you're ok, thats what's important. Once you've started on a 720 its hard to stop. if you can afford it look for something else but bring back the 720. You won't be sorry. Yours was too nice to just give up on.

I'd keep that truck and get a second 720 cheap off CL and just make a new truck.

Or junk here hopefully to a close ODPL member and go get a different nissan.

Igot a ton near me not that it helps but

1985 King cab 4x4 for $850

Sounds like a clean 1991 HB

and an 1989 HB that needs a new thermostat for $500.

I find nissan pickups all day. Shouldn't be hard to find one near you.

Disassembled:

We had to leave the hood on there because it was about to rain. Took about three hours to un-bolt and/or cut everything off, and everything had to be junked.

So, we found a few 720 bodies. One is just missing a fender with a bad motor, which mine works just fine - considering swapping motors and starting all over. I'll keep updating.

Just some updated pictures. It's been raining a lot lately, so we haven't been able to do any more work to it.

What used to be my front end.

Decide on what you are going to do, get another or something different?

Right now, we're still trying to figure out what to do. I'm probably going to get another car and slowly work my 720 back up, adding numerous parts while it's disassembled.

It's definitely going to be a long road. I'm only 16, so I need all the help I can get. We've got another 720 waiting for us that we can either use for the front end parts or to swap motors.

Just don't forget to post up pics of the progress. Don't know how many times I went been back to my thread to look at pictures during my engine swap.

Not to mention if you rebuild this thing and show before and afters, people freak.

Ha, yeah. Most people freaked a little after seeing my before/after pictures. But, I see this as an opportunity to practice body work..a LOT of practice, lol. I've taken pictures every step of the way and my computer is flooded with them.

Cranked it up for the first time since the accident last night That four cylinder has never roared better. Once we replace the ball joint and spindle, it should be driving in no time. Soon replacing my sub frame and core support, shouldn't be long before it's back on the road, looking better than ever.

We got a completely new front suspension (ball joint, spindle, etc., everything except the rotor and caliper) for the passenger side (the damaged one) for $20. We have a sub frame and core support waiting for us, all I need now is body panels. I'm not afraid to drive it naked for a while though Just as long as I'm back in my 720.
