Thanks to hail damage.

It wasn't a wreck.It wasn't a flip over.It wasn't a tree falling on it.It wasn't a drunk driver.It wasn't some drunk with a baseball bat.

It was little f***ing pieces of ice from the f***ing sky.

Did you know that it takes 22 hours to replace the entire roof on a J?

The estimate was $3100-$3600. They valued my car at $4050. A slap in the face, since it was worth $5500 when I bought it less than 18 months ago.

And.. I just dumped $800 in it. Brakes. Suspension.Yeah.

Guess who's pissed?

In retrospect....

They're saying the value of the car is $4050.KBB now says my car is worth $2760 which is $180 less than I paid for it, and my loan is still sitting at around $800. Which means... I'll probably get $3200 at the end of things.

Hindsight, I should stfu and take it.

There IS a leak in the passenger side head gasket area. The ball joints ARE starting to wear on the back... and well we all know what those cost--and I haven't been able to find specs on what the rear ball joints would be, like the fronts being the same as a 96 Maxima Lower ball joints.

... So ...who wants some maintenance parts?

I have a full set of brakes/rotors and a salvage control arm with a pretty good condition tension rod attached to it.

Along with some fluids.

Brakes, rotors, new parking brake shoe set and the spring kit. New as in NEW IN BOX. Not installed. Rotors need turned. $300 and whatever shipping is. That's at cost, by the way. Raybestos Rotors & brakes. Parking Brake Shoes were from Joe @ Infinitiparts, and the spring kit was from RockAuto.

This is for a 96 J30, by the way.

I hope someone is interested in lifting these off of me.

Have you called one of those dent removal places, the ones where a guy shows up at your house with a set of hammers and pops dents out?

Years ago, I had a car where the roof was damaged by hail. I was in the same situation as you, where the cost of the repair exceeded the value of the vehicle. I called in a "dent doctor" and for $300 he managed to get 95% of the hail dent damage out.

Car was hauled off this morning. I said goodbye to Rosalinde and got my Altima running again.
