Wassup every1, i recently totaled my car...sucked pretty bad. I turned too fast on a curvy course and my rear wheels lost control..then they caught up to the pavement as i fishtailed and forced me into the side of a hill. The car is totaled..frame is messed but the engine is fine i think. To fix the frame it would cost about 8000$ so i was told. I'm thinking of getting another 240sx and just dropping my transmission and engine into it. Mine was a 1995 240sx SE and was wondering if I could swap my motor into a 89-94 240sx engine bay. I would swap it to a s14 if I could find one but all I could find are the s13. If you can help, it'll be grately appreciated. Thank you.

Same motor, of course it will swap. 89-90 SOHCs will need to be rewired and set up for a DOHC, but 91-94 drop right in. Use the S13 intake and exhaust manifolds for asthetics, and use the S13 wiring, ECU, and distributor. Basically, you'll be swapping the longblock and accessories. You can use the S14 manifolds, but you won't need 90% of the emissions equipment. The head and upper front cover are slightly different between S13 and 14, so keep it all off the 14 motor.

I just put a 96 KA in my 91 I used the stock 96 manifolds and removed the EGR crap. There are a few plugs on the 96 intake manifold that are unused but it runs fine. You just need a s13 distributor and ignition stuff.

i just recetnly bought my 91 240sx and i was looking into swaping the motor out for a s14 or a s15, the j-spec puts out a cliamed 250hp at the fly which would be great considering i am only sitting on 155hp right now. but is it the same as swapping the s14 motor in. i can get the motor for only $2500, is that worth it?

The S15 motor would be an SR20. It will swap like any other SR, but the topic here was KA motors. Do a search on the SR, this has been beat to death a million times.

hi again, thank you for your replies and help. I have luckily located a 91 coupe that has an automatic motor but needs a transmission. That's why the lady is sellig it for about 1g. I was wondering if my s14 manual transmission and engine will fit into a 91 automatic transmissioned coupe? You said that the s14 motor would swap perfectly into the 91-94 since it's the same engine (ka24de dohc) but will the transmission fit? my friend told me that it might or might not because the manual transmission and automatic transmission varies in length (as he claims) I'm planning on perchasing the car but would like to know if my engine and transmission will swap into the 91 coupe that is suppose to be automatic. Also, would it be possible to take out my manual transmission and bolt it onto the engine that's coming with the car? Thanks for your help.

Peace
