ok so i have always heard/read that a general rule of thumb to play it safe is .75 or 1 degree of timing retard per psi of boost. so what is everyone with a tunable timing map total timing under boost? also where do i start retarting i mean i started retarding mine from 26* which is what my timing map is at around 0 boost/vacuum so my total timing at 8 psi os 18 or 19*. no detonation or knock here.

18* or 19* is kinda low. 23* at around 8psi should be perfect especially when hitting top torque. Now you also have to realize that the octane level that you use is drastically going to change those numbers. And that there comes a point where you just have to start using higher octane instead of pulling timing.

???mine drops low to about 12..under wot it's 17-19ishWOT stock is 26....

General rule of thumb that I go by is:-Stock KA-T can handle 5psi on a T3/T4 without timing retard on 91 octane.-Retard 1*/psi after that-1 octane is worth 2* timing IE 91-94=3 octane = +6* timing advance availableI got this from kennebell.net in the tech section.

8psi on 94 octane and I'm running 21* up to 5200rpm then 22* to redline on stock KA-T. Thats about 260whp.

10psi I am at 20* to redline. I was told by PDM's tuner that Don was running his stock KA-T 21* at 12psi on 94octane (330whp).

Timing under full boost for me starts at 20* and rises up to 23* near redline. 18psi on a 60-1 turbo. This is on E-85 though.
