I've been reading this forum for a couple of days now, and just registered. I've liked the 300zx for a while now, and have been dreaming of buying one. I just bought one, a 92 NA, but my knowledge of cars in general, is extremely limited. I am taking an interest in them now, but don't know how to get started.

What would you say would be the best way to start learning about repairs, etc? Where did you all learn?

Any help is appreciated.

i learned the basics in a class at school. i am learning about specific cars by just participating in forums and asking questions. twinturbo.net is a great z32 site, but i really don't like their format (they don't use v-bulletin). 300zxclub.com is another great site. if you want to learn about cars in genereal, automotiveforums.com is the largest automotive community on the net.

Thanks for the info. They do offer some courses at my college, but unfortunately I work full time and already have other classes, so I don't know if I'll be able to squeeze enough time in. Iwas curious if there was a way to learn kind of just on my own, similar to the way I (and I'm sure others) learned how to build/repair computers, as well as just be familiar with computers in general. I never took a class for that stuff, but have become proficient over the years of self teaching.

yea you could learn on your own. what i do a lot is when i am out hanging out at parking lots on firday and saturday nights, there is this z guy that i hang out with that knows everything there is to know about the z (he has a TT stage 7) and i just ask him questions. and you could do the same thing as you did with computers, just work on cars.

Well, guess I'll try just searching around those websites and forums, and just try to soak up all the info.

Thanks for the replies.
