so ive been thinking about selling my sr and getting an rb in a about a month, but only if my financial status comes to where i like.

and i was wondering what would be like a general part list and a general pricing for about what everything is going to cost.its either that or i also have a built head i will finish if not.

so basically i just want to have an idea the cost so i know if i should start buying things..

I did the wiring myself so I saved about $300. Which brings the total close to $4K.

I have a tacoma that i drive. i have been rebuilding/upgrading an s13 chassis and I am putting rwd rb26dett in it. This project is on year three and has cost to date around $16,000 with another 5000 to get is driving this summer plus another 5000 to finish the exterior and interior.

It is expensive and time consuming. I am doing all the work myself to know how it was done and save some money.

motor cost so farmotor 3250transmission 800clutch 700pistons 850machine work 1000gaskets/hardware/belts 1500water/oil pump 600

things i still need driveshaft 500radiator 350intercooler 500 to 1000mounts 200 to 500

A lot of time and about $10,000. That's without upgrading your brakes and footwork.

If you are serious. search a lot, on different sites. I think the rb25det swap is the way to go. less money maybe $5000 to $7000, good power, comes with the needed transmission.

If you are going to do a RB25det swap with a fmic and full exhaust and replace the water pump, and oil pump, and clutch, and thermo, and by the time you add up all the little stuff that you should get and replace before you actually put the motor in the car you are looking at about $6500 total give or take depending on where you buy parts and how much you pay for the motor. No labor included, so you would do all the work yourself!

Completely on point. Shop quoted me for 7K. I did it in 6K and still have parts left over. It's all a matter of finding the right deals being patient and research.

Just out of curiousity... Why sell the SR and go RB? Both of them have huge aftermarkets, so I can't see any advantage in power. The money you spend on the swap, could be used to make your SR even better. Either way, my friend did his RB swap for like 4k.

Advantage......torque is a nice advantage and the ability to use a larger turbo/spool it quicker. My main reason for the change was reliability and ultimately 6 cyl>4 cyl.

I had around $2200-2300 into my whole swap, going from bolt on 116whp KA24E to 217whp stock boost RB20. And both of those numbers are on my friends dyna pack.

I picked up a rb20 motor set for $1600, and it had all the maintainence done to it already. New oem oil pump, water pump, t stat, even a new oil pan, exhaust studs,

Then I bought 2 fans $150 from jegs, a walbro fuel pump $90, and $300 dxd clutch.

There are great deals, you just have to look for them.

I'm doing an RB26 AWD swap into an S13 Coupe.

I'll give you totals of everything and you can figure out whatever you're not doing or already have. Plus, if you do your own work like I am, then the price stays realistic... for an RB project anyhow.

The 90' 240 cost me $2000 plus $700 to ship it to my home. Smokin deal on a super clean car!The RB26 front clip from Tiger cost $3900 plus $400 to ship. The engine had good oil pressure and compression so I didn't have to do some of the following but decided to anyway.

N1 oil pump $200N1 water pump $150Timing belt, idler pulley, belt tensioner and spring $100Complete gasket kit, just cause I want one on hand $230

So, $2700$4300$230$200$150$100=$7680 which includes the price of the $2700 car to start with.

Add to that the cost of balancing my driveshaft when I get that far, call it $100The complete R32 GTR rear sub frame from J-Hot with all links, axles, diff, plus bunches of scary tubes and wires , $500Paying someone to do the wiring harness and everything else that involves magic, $500 or whatever...Eventual paint and body work materials, $500

So I'm at $9280 so far to have a complete AWD RB26 S13.

Add the finishing touches like the $2000 in 18" wheels and tires I already have for it,Cams, $600HKS 2530's and Tomei headers used from a R34 GTR at UMSTuning, paid $1500DeatschWerks 870's, $500Power FC, $1000The SS OBX exhaust for an R32 (dumps, Y, and everything to the bumper) that I'm going to cut and cannibalize to make work, $550Big K-Sport brakes, not listed on their site, Jeremy at UMS can get me a 4 corner set for $3000ishAnd of course the always extra $1500 for misc what nots... like intercooler, radiator, etc... I'll measure what fits then have something made for each.

A realistic total will be around, $20,000.

But then that's also pretty much everything. The car and clip, Body work and paint, wheels and tires, HP parts and brakes. All the work done myself, except wiring and driveshaft balancing.

Show car, race car, street car... And the closest to a legal GTR I can get.
