whats a good affordable click torque wrench for workin on the 240sx?

looking at craftsman but im not sure if i should just get one that goes up to 80 ft lbs or higher. if i get 150 ft lbs it'll be huge. if i get 80 ft lbs it wont measure high enough for the struts. i guess both would be best but im on a budget.

saw some made in taiwan wrench for $20 looked like the head would fall off it.

what do you guys use? I dont feel experienced enough to wing it. figure id mess around with a deflector bar and try to get the hang of it manually. maybe i could get by with loctite 80 ft lb wrench and the deflector bar.

i got the 150 lb/ft craftsman wrenches, and i am very pleased with it.

you really don't need it with struts, IMO. I didn't use a torque wrench and nothing has fallen off.

craftsman digitorq 5-80 ft/lbs [3/8"]craftsman digitorq 25-250 ft/lbs [1/2"]

those two cover pretty much anything.

and i love the numbers in the window on the digitorq wrenches instead of the usual micrometer style adjustment. the 3/8" reads in .5 ft/lbs increments, and the 1/2" reads in 2 ft/lbs increments

the 3/8 in wrench cost me $90 and the 1/2 in cost $100

theres a seperate window for newton meters and foot pounds.

I have the Craftsman 80 lbs torque wrench, when I did my struts I just set it at the highest setting (80) then gave it a little extra "oomph" for the 5 ft/lbs needed to set to factory spec. Nothing has fallen off yet. IMO, 150 ft/lbs would probably be excessive for the 240. Doubt you'll need that range of adjustment.

craftsman digitorque 25-250 is my torque wrench of choice. They only come with a 1 year warranty though, but if you say you lost the reciept and they can't find you in the system, talk to a manager, they'll usually cave and let you get a new one. lol

You'll need higher than 80 ft/lbs if you want to do head work or replace hubs. My Craftsman crapped out on me and I got a new one for free.........
