Possibly a mistake of mine doing two threads at once, but this is an urgent matter: I need a torque wrench, to perform my timing chain replacement. I have seen the torque wrenches available at Sears, one of them was 30 bucks (not a bad price) and went from 0-75lbs, and the other was 30-150lbs and costed TWO HUNDRED dollars. Is there a way/place to get a cheaper torque wrench? (Why the HELL are they so expensive anyway?) the 200 dollar one was Craftsman, and I know they are a good brand and lifetime warranty, etc, but I simply do not have 200 dollars to spend on a tool right now, so I might end up goign with the 30 dollar one. One problem is that the 1990 240SX Crankshaft pulley torque specs are 87-116lbs, which is over what I can do with the cheap wrench, and I myself have no clue how hard I have to tighten it w/out using a torque wrench. I know its roughly in the range of the tightness of a wheel lug, but I don't wanna half-*** this job. Help, if you can. :help

Got an autozone or a pepboys close to you? If so go and do their loaner program. Basically you pay the full outright fee which is the cost of a new one, use the tool for however long you want and then just bring it back and they give you your money back. I do that all the time for odd tools Ill need once in a blue moon.

No its not the same as buying it then returning it. hehe they have tools just for this purpose.

K-Car, thank you very, very much. The place you linked to has THE wrench!10-150lbs, 18" long, TWENTY BUCKS!!! WOW!Unfortunately I have to do the replacement on Sunday, so I will most likely borrow one from PepBoys or Autozone, but I did order the one form the website so this won't happen again. You've been a great help, thanks a lot, this site has almost every tool imaginable.

:) *runs off into the sunset*
