After posting and reading over another topic regarding advantages/disadvantages of getting a FWD vs. AWD, I wanted to post something on a similar note for FWD owners.

Do you or have you experience torque-steer. I certainly have, I little disconcerting, but no big deal. I just didn't think a whole whopping 170hp, 175 lb-ft torque in such a heavy beat would show such noticeable effect, especially considering I don't really gun it or anything.

Actually the torque steer on the Rogue is pretty low and is among the lowest of most of the FWD vehicles I have driven. My '03 Altima by comparison was far more noticeable. AWD Rogues may not notice it as much considering 50% of the engine's torque gets directed to the rear when accelerating from a dead stop.

The worst car I have ever driven torque steer wise was an older Plymouth Sundance. It was underpowered, heavy and torque steered so hard from a dead stop that you had to watch it didn't pull you into the next lane!

I have had my FWD Rogue for 2 months now ... and I have not noticed any torque steer which means, as philipa_240sx said, it is pretty low. But I am comparing to my last car had moderate torque steer, I had to watch it when accelerating hard from a stop and turning left. On a slippery road I could easily sideswipe the guy in the turning lane next to me (on my right). I don't have this concern with the Rogue, there is a faint tug but I do not have to give it special attention like my last car.

When driving around last night, I paid speical attention to any torque steer. Honestly, it's barely noticeable.
