Well when I slam the gas down on my 3.5se Altima its that feeling that 2 hands are needed on the wheel! lots of power + FWD = Torque steer.

Torque steer happens when you have FWD w/ unequal halfshaft lengths. What happens is when you nail the gas or send alot of power suddenly to the wheels the shorter shaft will transfer more power to the wheel causing it to push harder than the other wheel. This makes the car suddenly steer over ... hence Torque Steer. DSMs and Maximas do this alot. Never driven or seen someone drive an Altima hard yet.

Torque steer is takes all the fun out of the new Maxiams etc. Great engine but it is not posilble to take advantage of its power because both the power and the steering are being handled by the same wheels. Result: input, input, input. Drifting is made impossilble.

Don't need to tell me about that! My Maxima has literally frightend me a few times with that feeling of "oh crap, I'm losing control!" I've gotten a little better with some practice to "hold on", but I'm still working on it.

Do they make ff's with equal half shafts? or is it not reasonable to do this?

Im sure they do somewhere... its just that the transmission would have to be set up so that the differential goes in the center of the transmission. That would be kinda hard.
