I am trying to get new tires for my 1975 datsun 280Z and they want to know the torque specs. i think like the pounds for torque so they wont screw it on too tight or too loose. anyone know where i can find that information or anyone know of it? its not in my manual. thanks.

I dunno. I think too tight is better than too loose.

Any decent tire shop should have a torque table showing the factory lugnut torque specification... I believe it's been 80-90 ft/lb., but that's going from memory...

And going too tight can cause problems like rotor warping amongst other things :/

Datsun four lugs call for 60 ft.lb.

Make sure you get a Haynes (or equivalent) for that beast. Check out http://www.hybridz.org as well. Lotsa S30 and S130 chassis talk in there.

If you go too tight you can spin a wheel stud which is a real @#%!@ to get off.

The S30 is a little different than modern cars.
