I was in the process of installing my engine and Transmission back into the car after having done a good bit of work to engine and transmission has been completely rebuilt. Anyway im putting the engine back in with transmission bolted onto motor,as well as exhaust manifolds. I have it in place ready for motor mount nuts to be put on but im kinda worried about something. I used a engine leveler when putting unit in so that i would be able to tilt the rear of transmission down enough to get it to go in,well in the process of doing this when the transmission was tilted down some fluid leaked out of sides of transmission where lines bolt in. Im not concerned with the fluid that leaked out it wasnt much(1/4 quart at very most probably) im worried about how much fluid is left in the TORQUE-CONVERTER!! There should be over 2 quarts in the converter, if it all leaked out to inside the transmission then i dont know how much is left in the converter if any! will it hurt to drive it not knowing how much fluid is left in converter?? please help Q45 TECH or any one else that can. much thanks guys, SUBZERO

Can't believe you are doing this without and FSM.

If you had one, you would know the engine is installed from underneath.

Since the AT pump fills the TC one normally spends sometime checking and replenishing fluids and waiting until warm up of ATF before driving away.

I have never seen an engine transmission reinstall that went perfectly without some trouble shooting.

I agree.. I would run the car for a few mins, then recheck the fluid... Then let it get to operating temp, and recheck the fluid. I cant imagine of 10 mins of sitting adjusting fluids that you could possibly do any damage.

I would plan on an extra hour just to make sure the fluid level and everything else is kosher.

"Them sounds like fightin' words."

Gee. I wonder who that was directed at? One guess Gentlemen.

Time to watch this drama unfold.

Not fighting words at all.

I know that SUBZERO has some medical problems, and is away from the forum for extended periods. So when I see him back on the forum I just want to remind him about the small amount of $$ he owes me on some wheels I sold him last summer.

Wouldn't be a big deal, except the shipping to Alaska cost more than the wheels, and when he pays I'll about break even.

Not you my friend. Sorry for the mixup. You're just a man trying to get paid. Nothing wrong with that.

Anywho, how's that purple Q?
