Anybody know if a 1990 Q45 has a drain plug in the torque convertor? I've never seen one, but the dealer claims they drain it as part of their transmission "flush"

The line from the transmission to the heat exchanger is actually the torque convertor drain, the line from the heat exchanger feeds the rear plantetary first then drains into the pan. The pan pickup feeds the transmission pump.ATF is continuously push thru the torque convertor .

Thanks for the information, So, if I take this line off and blow some compressed air through it, I should be able to get most of the transmission fluid out via the pan drain bolt? I guess I can just measure the amount that comes out to see if I got most of it.

I just had a pan drain and filter change on my q,in order to reach some of the pan bolts, the tech removed the cooler lines, and it took 7 quarts of mobil 1 to refill,so maybe 3.5 quarts were left of the old fluid.fluid just kept dripping out of the cooler lines and transmission housing until he replaced the pan, maybe more than 7 quarts would have been removed if we let it drip overnite? by the way,pan was spotless, minimal fine metal dust on the magnet, and original filter looked immaculate, screen color was identical to the new one!fluid has been exchanged every 30k,this was first pan drop/ filter replacement, current miles-114,600.Tech was impressed with cleanliness of transmission. Will wait to do next fluid exchange an additional 10k miles, based on this replacement of 7 quarts, anyone see any reason to exchange fluid any earlier?
