Torque converter dieing?

Have a problem just wondering if anyone else has run in to this. I have a 94 240sx ka24de w/ auto trans. When I sit at a light the car will sake every now and then. It feels like a really bad miss because it causes the whole car to sake. It is not constant it will happen and then idle fine. I know it is not an idle issue (fuel/spark/air) because it will not do it if the car is in park/neutral. Just changed trans fluid trying to fix it.
