Does anyone know if I can get to the torque converter bolts by just removing the starter?

The ones on top? Think they require 3 ft. extension.

no you can't get to them by removing the starter. you need to remove the bottom guard at the flywheel. all your bellhousing bolts will need to be loose. you'll need a three ft. extention and universal joint to get to the top two bolts at the bell housing.

Thanks but I have the top 2 bellhousing bolts off and the bottom 2 off as well. I only have 2 left on the bellhousing on the middle of each side. I also have the 4 bolts going from the lower cover into the bellhousing removed. I am stuck at this point I cant seem to get the cover on the bottom off but I dont see any other bots on it either. and I dont want to take off all of the bolts on the bellhousing completely until I have the flywheel bolts out. Any sugjestions?

i did it on a 1995. Is the guard loose? guard isn't completely straight, so as long as you have enough separation of the trans. it should come out. use a prybar if you have to.

turn the crank manually to get access to the other bolts.
