The Versa I bought a month or two ago shifted easy but seemed to buck back and forth much more than I would consider normal. I found the torque arm bushing on the top of the engine worn out and split. The part cost was $72 from Nissan and was a 10 minute repair. The car drives much smoother now. I would imagine that stick shifts are much harder on this bushing than those with an automatic. The constant back and forth motion of the engine during shifts can wear it out, or at least that is what I have discovered. I suggest you take a look at your own Versa for the same evidence of failure. Mine has 86K miles on it. Good Luck and report back here what you find!

I would attach some pictures, but I cannot determine the way to do that on this forum.

host them on a place like Photobucket and then paste the link with the " Img " button.
