Torn strut mount and handling

I have searched, but all I could find is that it has to be replaced. Yes I will replace it, but this question came about because I noticed my front strut mounts in my 89 fb starting to tear. How does this affect handling of my vehicle or should I say all vehicles?

camber and caster will be affected as the strut shaft will tend to wander more and steering and overall strut damping will be a little worse.overall the upper strut lnsulator holds the upper shock shaft in place and when the bushing goes out, that part of the suspension will get sloppy and sometimes noisey, causing clunking
