torn seat

I'm sick about this. I put a fairly heavy piece of furniture in the passenger seat (yes, I know - very stupid). The seat tore - about a 2 inch rip (triangle type) in the place where someone would rest the middle of their back. It is a climate control seat, so the leather is perforated. The seat otherwise is in very good shape - it's a 2006, but I drive by myself 95% of the time. Any thoughts on repair procedures? Could an upholstery shop cut out the torn panel and sew in a replacement? Any other suggestions? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Yes an upholstery shop can cut out the torn panel and sew in a replacement pc.

Just make sure that the new panel matches before taking the seat apart.
