I am having trouble deciding to Finish My SR blktp. I already have brand new head with multi angle valve job, 264/264 BC Cams retainers and springs. 2871R. New rods, pistons, and all the bottom end goodies. But I am pondering the thought of RB25DET NEO, wich I already have a 3076R, w .81AR and 1.08 AR housings twinscroll. I can easily sell off all of the sr stuff and get the RB with a little leftover. Opinions greatly appreciated, and please be honest.

What are the down sides besides cost of replacement parts?

You already have a motor, going from a 4 to a 6 is alot of money. You will make more HP with your current setup on the SR than you will with a stock Neo. Trust us RB's=money no matter which one you get.

If you really want a Neo how about a Neo VVL head for that SR20?

It bolts on to the SR20 head but you need custom work like the CAS from the SR20VE 20V needs to b wired up ect. Look into it, with just valve springs you can spin the head to 9k easy and if your short block can take it 10 or 11k.

LoL thats not for sale thats mine. Check the SR20-Forum.com in the N/A for sale section. There are a few heads up for sale on there. Maxworks makng a intake manifold for it too looks really nice. This swap isn't easy or cheap but the head has awesome flow. If you search freshalloy in the advanced section more info can be found about the VE head swap.
