Not sure what that is a picture of because the description says it's a T3 flange. It does appear to be able to use a V-band wastegate.
-T3 Inlet Flange

-Option for 2-bolt 38mm, Tial MVS or MVR/44mm wastegate flange

-Retains AC
What I want is a twin scroll T4 manifold so I don't have to use the vintage HKS stuff.

I just sent them an email inquiring about the turbo flange type availability, grade and wall thickness of the steel and the potential of a group buy discount. Anybody interested?

UPDATE:
If we can get 5 or more it's a 20% discount and they can do Vband

They are .140 wall thickness and 304 stainless. I would like to see a 321 alloy and a thicker wall, it's about 3.5mm. Trust manifolds back in the day were notorious for cracking and they were 304 alloy, but I'm willing to bet the tubes had thin walls. I like what I'm seeing in the video.

For what it's worth we have a customer at the shop here running one of their manifolds on his SR20. About 1000km on the engine last I spoke with him and so far so good.

304 is sufficient if the walls are thick enough.
I would be interessted if they could give us a decent turbo location.
The turbo should be alot further forward, like turning a downmount manifold upside down.

I've held a stocker upside down on an engine and it would be a great thing. Make an adapter plate with studs to flip the manifold and you will sell quite a few I'm sure.

Yea, that looks like it wouldn't place the turbo in a very good spot. TMS can't testify to this, because his is RHD, but the turbo placement on the HKS turbo manifold is TERRIBLE for placement in regards to the brake master and booster. This manifold doesn't look like it places it any differently. I'm wondering if these guys have actually had a CA in the shop and had this manifold fitted with a turbo on it. I suspect they simply took an SR20 or KA24 manifold and put a different head flange on it. If that's the case, this thing won't work. The lean of the CA screws clearances on the exhaust side up badly.

I'll see if they can provide some mounting pictures.

Here's one with the T3 flange.

Yea, that's not a divided manifold either. I guess I'll stick with the HKS manifold...

If it had the V band I could forgive it. I actually enjoy a big of lag.

UPDATE: They don't have any CA18 pics, but suggest that their SR manifolds fit up well supporting the previously-posed theory. :frown:

This is actually exactly what I am doing.
Just need to find someone who can cut and weld the cast iron.

Also considered this RC-Turbo manifold.

Not feeling the wastgate source. It looks like an afterthought and not balanced.

They are pretty good about customizing their products however you want at no extra cost. I would not have them put a wastegate source on it at all, I just want to run a T25/T28 top mounted because I have a strong aversion for dealing with bottom-mounted turbos. :)
I would still prefer to just have the stock manifold flipped upside down. Too bad it does not use a reversible flange pattern such as a KA where you can just mount the manifold upside down.

An adapter was actually the initial plan. It would not be that difficult either, one could just buy a blank flange and use flat socket bolts, similar to how transmission adapter plates are made. However, I decided to rather just have the flanges flipped instead of introducing extra weight/parts.

Welding cast iron is not easy.

Welding cast iron is not easy. Welding cast iron to another metal is even harder.

Seriously, after you have it worked out, have whoever does make a couple and I bet they will sell.

Here is the turbo placement of a stock manifold flipped upside down. I did this years ago in an attempt to get better positioning away from my brake master in my ae86. After purchasing a top mount, trying the HKS mount, different bottom mount I eventually tried just flipping it upside down and it was perfect. Turned out well for me.

The FWD manifold could possibly work out even better for mounting upside down.

Would anyone happen to have a CAD file of the exhaust flange?

Xcessive agreed to make the adapter.
It will be 280-300$. Less if anyone else wants one as well.

Nice-looking steel manifold from Sweden that I came across while exploring top-mounting a T2 turbo. I emailed them asking if they would ship to the US.
