If you piece together a kit, everything becomes custom. I don't know of any top mount T2 flanged manifolds. Your best bet is to get a T3 of some kind.

Really. Why do you want a T28 on a top mount?!?! So you can deal with cracked manis? Just so you can look at your turbo, right?

Why T28 then? Why not a T3 which will make more power and can be had cheaper without a significantly longer spool.

Just curious but is it bad to put a t28 on a topmount?

Its not that its bad, its just kind of a conflicting goal. Topmount turbos typically are suited best for high-po apps, while bottom mounts are better for your center of gravity(ie cornering). With that small of a turbo its not going to benefit much from being a topmount, and your going to hurt your cars center of gravity a bit(eh with a t28 maybe not so much but still).

We have a big fat 2.4L 4 cyl engine. Simply put, the turbo you want to put on your car is to small. It will restrict your engines top end, because the amount of exhaust that has to go through your turbo is way more than a t28 is meant to handle. Your turbo will actually work as a restrictor at high rpms.

With that being said plenty of guys use a T28 on their cars and it runs fine. Im just talking the basics of turbo design here, you want a turbo thats sized to your engine displacement.

For the price of a t28 you can get at least a super60 t3 which will be much better for your car.

Also i have never seen a t2 flanged topmount turbo manifold for the KA.

You really should at least think about using a T3 Super60 .48 turbine. Although, I would think much larger, and go lower boost.

Sorry, I do not mean to be discouraging, but typically people using the T2x frame become unsatisfied later. If you are sure that you will be good with that then run with it, but if you even just use a small T3 with a Ford 5 bolt flange, you will have room to grow that the T2x cannot provide without serious machine work.

Good luck, and whatever you end up doing, I hope it was everything you wanted.

Ok thanks for the explanation. Im gonna be running a Iaresearch T04 with a megan topmount, is that a bad setup in your opinion?

A straight T4 can be really good, without being a total spool monster. Which turbo is it? T04e or T04b, which turbine wheel? I would make a brace if the megan topmount is anything like the SSAC. But I will say that there is more than once that I wish I would have just gone with a straight T4, and may do so later.

i thought megan only made a bottom mount for the ka24de motor? not to thread jack but would a t3 or super 60 or t04e mate up to a manifold designed for the gt28?

It can be made to do so, but no, it will not bolt right up without some intervention on your behalf.
