Depends if you have the money. You would also need a Rb25 trans too. If you have the cash why not.

thats a catchy thread name ...

i think it depends what you want to do with the car whether or not to get a rb26. check out the rb forum and talk to some of the guys, they can give you some more info about the motor.

my opinion, you dont have to listen to it.

you don't sound too serious... you do realize this can be up to 20K maybe even more. and of course if you get the motor youre gonna be thinking about pushing down some serious power. so of course it is going to be a lot of $.

if you dont go say over 350-400hp at the least you have no need to do get into the rb motor. this is just a rough estimate though so dont take the numbers seriously im not sure myself. if you are going less than 350-400~~ hp you should either kat, sr, ca, whatever instead.

the rb26dett is for ballers. say you got about 20-30k in your bank then yeah. i mean if you go that far your car better look pretty sweet. it better be nicely wheeled, with coilovers, all the cooling you can get, otherwise whats the use. and yeah most people that have rb26dett have had srs and some had ka-t before swapping in the rb.

i had a friend that had one and swaped it out for an sr afterwards. its preference though

Juujai, beautiful post, you couldn't of said it any better. People need to relize that an RB26DETT swap isn't just any old thing, I always tend to laugh when poeple say they want to swap an RB26DETT in and don't relize that what they are looking for in HP and whats in their pocket fit the bill of a KA-T or SR.
