I see you are from Mississippi also. I wouldn't advise getting one without a harness unless you have both FULL wiring diagrams of both model cars (jdm/usdm). Using the KA harness involves a lot of splicing and re-pinning. That or just go buy a used harness.

Used Harness is approximately $350.

I know an Aussie friend that is holding a SR harness for me that he sourced from a junkyard over there. He could only find one and is saving that one for me when I am ready to pay for it(about 75USD). As far as that, no, I don't know anyone else that would sell a harness besides these vendors like jspec, heavythrottle, or phase2 will sell new or used harness for around 350+.

Where are you getting the motor from?

My plans for my swap won't be til' around this time next year, but I plan to have the motor fully built internally and externally before I drop it in. I figure, since its a used motor, you don't know where its been and how it was treated, so why not just rebuild the sucker with good parts and treat it like new. Less problems down the road.

I don't do the swaps for money let alone for other people as of yet. Personally, I haven't done the swap myself yet, but I have done far more research then I needed to do. I can probably have the swap done with the correct equipment and all in my driveway in a full day or two. After I do it myself, then I will begin to charge and do it for others. I figure, depending on condition of the motor and number of missing parts and problems I run into, I would charge anywhere from 600-1200+parts(if missing) depending on the motor. If someone brings me their car and motor in horrible shape, most likely it could cost more depending on what I have to do to it. Motor swaps in general all have the same concept which I am not new to. I've done plenty of honda swaps for friends from New Olreans.

p.s. I might let heavythrottle do my harness, then again I want to learn it on my own, shouldn't be hard.

I was driving a refurbished 97' SE, but I just recently sold it a few days ago because I was short on money to pay bills. It's not as bad as it sounds, bought it for 3200, fixed for 1000, sold for 8000. I am probably going to save the extra cash for either more upcoming bills or to buy a 95' SE and do the 97'-98' front end conversion from daunt. I won't purchase another car until next year when I am ready to do the swap. Currently driving a Honda Passport just to get around. Civic got flooded in Tropical Storm Isidore :D . I really did smile about it.

It will be easy if you know a few extra things here and there about the SR swap. The honda's are more interchangable when it comes to wiring. The SR will involve a few splices here and there and plenty of wire extending. The S14 needs more wiring labor then the S13 chassis because of dif locations of power plugs and accessories. In general, the swap is straight forward and bolts straight up. The only "hell" about it is the wiring, so good luck on that. I am still in need of the S13 SR20DET redtop wiring diagrams to be sure of my future swap.

Hey dauntt, is the CA18DET wiring from harness out the same as SR20DET? One Aussie told me that he did the CA18 to SR20DET swap using his CA wiring by just plugging it up(both were DET of course just in case of confusion). If that is the case, then I have the CA wiring diagrams. Both the engines don't differ much in electronics because they both use coil packs (reason why the SR20DE and SR20DET differed in wiring).

S13 for all of the diagrams, codes, and ECU. All for the Redtop, im not sure how much applies to the 180SX Blacktop SR.
