Although its an old topic, I thought I'd give up some info on the gt28rs, aka 'Disco Potato'.

I'm not sure exactly how much better it is than the gt25r, (whichcan be had for 1080$ from cheapturbo.com), but the gt28rs wasalmost the same price at 1170$ from:

Also, there are some installation instructions that can be found from sport compact car at:

And lastly, garrett's specifacations for the turbo are:

Or you could get a new OEM s15 BB t28 for $850 shipped thats about the same size.

a GT25R will hit over 380hp on the SR so i dont know what the big deal about the "disco potato" is.

I think the DP turbo is about the most overrated POS there is. The GT25R spools within 200-300rpm of the DP and the 25R peaks about 100-150hp higher.

The S15 turbo makes more HP and spools faster than the DP (it peaks a little lower but makes more power under the curve)

The only reason the DP is popular was that some idiot wrote about it in a magazine because he got one for free because Garret needed to start moving them because they wouldn't sell otherwise.

First and foremost the magazines are published to sell product.
