So, being in FL, I drive around with the top down pretty much every day. Yesterday, I put it up, but it did not fully extend. I am quite scared to know exactly what is wrong, but if anyone who has take their top assembly apart or replaced it can give me any help, I'd really appreciate it.

The top stops about 2 inches short of where it needs to be to clamp into place. I can force it into place to secure it, but you can tell its being twisted to do it. I have the next week off, so if you guys need pictures, I'll do my best to accommodate.

All help is appreciated.

I have the same problem. I just deal with it. It's not that bad. All i do is grab the handle and pull it into place.

unfortunately, the hinge right by the side windows bends downward in a V shape, almost like a hyper-extending a joint, interfering with how the door closes when the window is up, and actually rolling the windows up. I want to live with it, but i am anal about my car.

any suggestions guys?

Maybe the cables are caught on something. They are attached at corners of top and go along the side of top and behind the side windows. You might have to remove the headliner to get to ones behind side windows. Just a thought. The cable actually moves through a tight channel in top assembly (actually travels up and through a slot and it secured with a tiny pin. I'm sure Nemo has pics from supplement of what I'm talking about if he understands. The cables hold tension for top assembly. Hope this helps. If not I'll see it I can find the pages of what I'm talking about.

I had something similar happen over the summer. one of the bolts came out and the top would not sit where it needed to to close. right above the rear quarter window on the passenger side is where the bolt came out. With it out the back section only went up 5/6 of the way it should have on one side.

Hope you understand what I mean, I can take pictures if you need them.

if you could take pictures of that bolt, that would be awesome, but i'll try to find it in the mean time. this sounds exactly like what is happening with my top.
