just wondering what order to put these upgrades in.. what are your opinions? not saying it has to be these 10 choices, they were just ones that popped into my head as being important. oh, also keep in consideration that I'm not planning on significantly increasing boost pressure.

a. intake manifoldb. front mount intercoolerc. downpiped. exhauste. safcf. lsdg. driveshafth. ecu modi. throttle bodyj. cheap turbo modification

If you're not increasing boost pressure...

1. Full exhaust2. Fuel/timing control3. Cams

cams? If you are talking about an rb, what a pain. If you aren't upping the boost:

1. Full exhaust2. Fuel/timing control3. lsd4.fmic and downpipe

Trust me, as soon as you got the RB240 running your list will change, and the LSD will be at the top of the list.

well my engine won't be here until late June/early July but the things I felt I needed ( I am gathering most of these up at the moment) have been:

3" full catback exhaust3" downpipeSkyline LSDcustom drive shaftwalbro fuel pump and dual 12" electric fans

a front mount intercooler may also be some I feel is a necessity, but for now thats what I've purchased

well maybe just a little extra boost but basically I'm not planning on spending much more on the fuel system besides the s-afc. I also am trying to keep the costs down so I think I will forego cams for now (especially since I'm not sure I could do it right myself).

thanks for the replies guys!

Heh, I've had turbo Impreza's for my last two cars, so I guess I'm not used to only one wheel spinning at a time. :D

chaos make sure you get a new walbro fuel pump. its more important than an SAFC.. GET IT!

really? would you care to elaborate? is it good overall or just as a safety precaution in case I accidently over boost or something?

I read somewhere that the stock 240sx pumps are good for only 250 hp, with a 4 cyl. The walbro or a highflow pump of somekind is a must for an RB swap.

what Nismo said...

Think of it this way...people who have turboed their KA's say don't go over 5 or 6 PSI without getting a high flow fuel pump (walbro or 300zxTT).

Stock RB's run somewhere between 7-9 I think for PSI.. and each injector is 370... 270x4 on KA.. 370x6 on RB... it just makes sense that it MUST be changed or you will lean out and B L O W S K Y H I G H!! : )

I've heard though that the RB25 ECU doesn't respond very well to the SAFC. Not 100% sure on that though. And do you NEED an SAFC if you are going to raise the boost? Are there any other options besides a stand alone system?

I think the RB20 has 270's

I am pretty sure the RB25 has 370's

and I am guessing the RB26 has 444's like the S15 Silvia's

I dunno anything about it responding to an SAFC. you guys should check out meggala.com the guy lives in Australia and has a lot of info on skyline stuff.

Clips come with injectors, I don't think they come with fuel pumps

I'm probably totally wrong but I think fuel pumps are next to or inside the gas tanks... so no you wouldn't get it in the clip

Yeah, clips should come with everything under the hood, unless otherwise specified. Fuel pumps are in the tank.

Fuel pumps are usually in the fuel tank. You can get an external fuel pump, but their usually noisy. The walbro is an in tank unit and not any louder than the stock unit. It costs around $140 and definately something you should get whenever you think about doing anything that is going to increase your hp to the 200hp range. The stock fuel pump maybe good for 250hp, but thats only on a brand new pump. Old tired ones won't do so well. Upgrade that fuel pump so you don't break the expensive engine.

wow thanks guys.. eh at least $140 is not that bad.just curious though- exactly how much should I expect to pay for those 444 injectors off of the rb26 if I wanted some?

What are you going with? rb20 or rb25? rb20 is top feed,r33 rb25 is side feed.If going rb25:rb26 injectors are top feed so you will need a new fuel rail. Your better off going with the 480cc s15 injectors which are side feed. I was quoted $100/each for new s15 injectors.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I didn't think I should start a new one.

Anyways, I plan on going with the rb25 engine for my 240. I would like to do it, but I really don't have the time and I know I will take forever to do it. I enjoy doing the work my self, so my main problem isn't really the money. I want to upgrade everything myself. What would be the minimal aftermarket upgrades I would require for this swap, aside from the clip? I also want this car to be reliable. I live in Florida, so I'm probably going to get a better radiator.

Radiator, fuel pump....

Thanks,Johann

I'd say required aftermarket parts for install are probably...

Fuel Pump, New DrivelineElectric radiator fans to give more clearance

I think thats all you really need... but there are other things that would be beneficial to get... like

Front mount intercooler... I have no idea where the stock side mount would end up in or engine bay.

LSD.. you want to get that massive skyline power to the ground!

Exhaust is probably a must considering our stock piping is probably smaller than the skyline's

and a more breathable intake would be nice since if your gonna do the exhaust
