Good Morning,

Just curious if anyone knew what the top speed would be on my new Infiniti G37S Sedan 6MT if the rev limiter were not on. I would also be curious about its 1/4mi time. I'm not racing it, I just want to know.

I would appreciate any information that you have. Thank you.

Sorry, "speed limiter", not "rev limiter". Thanks.

I believe the speed limiter is set at 155. For what it's worth, I think with the right weather conditions and enough land to do it, you might get close to 165 in stock trim.

0-60, depending on driver is in the 5.2 - 5.5 second range.

Thank you, I didn't want to try for a top speed test and I didn't want to abuse my transmission in the way that it would have taken to hit the max 0-60. This information is for bragging rights only.....especially since I have a baby seat in the back ;-) I know it isn't a sports car but it sure beats the heck out of minivan!

Is it an African or a European G37S?

The best way to check the speed of your vehicle is with a speed radar outside of the vehicle. Years ago I read in a magazine about a Sonata, which maximum speed was 147mph, that was caught by a police speed camera going to 150's mph, and even 160's mph. Police was trying to catch the driver. Finally when they caught the vehicle, police tried to charge him with both speed violations. The driver got smart, he claimed that the cameras have a deffect about measuring speed and that the vehicle can't go further than 147mph.

So, the case was taken to a Sonata car mechanic, this expert said that indeed, the car can't go beyond 147mph. Then the police tried the car going to full speed in that highway -this part of the route was a hill going down that helped the vehicle to go beyond its speed limit- and was able to prove one of the violations only, the lesser speed one. That was the charge paid by the driver.

If I had gone with the African version, I would have opted for the 4wd and given up the extra hp. I would rather have all wheel drive than an extra 30 horses when being charged by lions and elephants.

I would ask Ryan Dunn, he knows all about high speeds.

I belive i was reading on another site that with the proper mods the stock gearing would take you up to around 176 or something like that.

Please don't quote me on that. im just relaying what i have read.
