Hi everyone. My first post

Is there anyway to remove the speed limiter on the Js? I've seen a Nissan program and special diagnostics cable that allows you to pull data from the ECU. So was just wondering if anyone has found a way to remove the governor.

Thanks

The J30 has no governor to my knowledge.

Its engine goverened. If you can get it up to 150 then congrats.

But it will take quite a stretch of road to get up that high.

Ive had mine up to 120 and she had a lil more to go but it would require a good amount of road.

I'm almost sure mine has a governor.

The transmission will be in 3rd gear and the engine around 5000rpm or so. Once I hit 120mph, it hits that invisible wall and no longer climbs. Mind you on its way up to 120mph, it's no slouch either. It will climb up to 120mph quick enough to not have to stop at 120mph unless it is electronically limited.. And also besides the fact that once it hits about 120mph, the transmission shifts up to 4th gear without even needing to redline 3rd.

If it wasn't electronically controlled, it would easily creep up to at least 130 or 140mph with the speed that it takes to get up to 120mph.

I've had several different cars with and without governors, so I guess I somewhat already know how a governor acts

Hey Flybye and ALL:I've buired the needle at 150 within about 1.5 miles on a dead straight of Super Slab in my 93 J30t.I held 3rd gear up to 110, then manually kicked her in. 130 came right away, to 145 then 150 took some room, but got there. No misses, just me wondering if I was going to break the needle or have the sky fall on me. Gads, had it not been for that road sign out of El Paso that stated: "No gas--no exit--for next 17 miles."Dig it. I was 19 once again. But now I got a bearing going bad in the power steering, I think it is. I hope not water pump.My J30t has 142k original miles and I'm the 2nd owner. First guy didn't smoke, only drove in Dallas traffic and out to his cabin on the lake with only a few road trips, but he kept it clean with oil and good gasoline. 2 tune ups. That's it. I've had it almost 3 months now and I am about to take a rode trip for the Holidays. Yes, I have that much faith in this ole Infiniti.Drive on J-sters!Jasonsos

I've had my '93 J30t just over 120mph. Never hit a limiter.
