What kind of top speed do you guys see out of your trucks?

I drive about 50 miles round trip to work on the highway. Running down the road in 5th gear/3k rpm I get about 70 mph tops.

For now the engine is bone stock and I recently replaced all of the vacuum lines/ fuel lines/ air filters etc. Above ~55 mph this thing is gutless when it comes to acceleration, it will maintain speed just fine but there is absolutely no passing power. Is it just the nature of the beast or is there possibly something holding me back?

A good tune up.... Including freshening up the carb should help.... I live up above 6,000ft. elevation, and while I do have an aftermarket carb and some other mods, the truck will cruise at 90 all day if I want it to.

II can cruise at 85 without a problem. Anything higher and it starts to scream...

The 4x4's have ridiculous diff gear ratio's. There are gears for the diff with better ratios, but I've only seen them for $500 or more. I just let the old mule pound down the highway at around 60-65, it is in no way a cruiser or road trip machine. I just got back from wheelin in Moab, UT, she is much happier off-road.

I was wondering about that a while ago. What are the rear gear differences between a 2wd and a 4wd?

It differs from truck to truck but is based on the model of diff. The basic final drive for the 2WD is 4.625 or 4.375 for the H 190, and for the 4WD its 4.875 or 4.625 for the R 180 front, 4.625 for the H 190 rear or 4.875 for the C 200 rear. These figures are based on data for vehicles delivered to the Caribbean.
