So today, I installed my Top Speed exhaust, and I have to say, its pretty loud. Personally, I love it. It's got a nice growl to it. But I feel like its a disturbance in the neighborhood. So what I'm wondering is, does an exhaust get any quieter after breaking it in for a bit?
The tips are also a bit uneven, has anyone had this problem before?

If you think its too loud in the hood, I would suggest up shifting a gear, and ease on through at 2k rpm. Then you will be as close to silent as your going to get. I am respectful of my neighbors and always cut the music back and the rpms once I turn on my street.

Does it any quieter? No, not really. It gets richer and deeper. If you wanted a quiet exhaust you should have went with the Borla or the Tannabe. They both have good tone, but are just a little louder then stock.

Tips. I did have to heat the SS hangers to get it ajusted at 1st(2 years ago) Then when the body kit, went on the did some custom hangers with standard parts. looks perfect to me. (Unless you ment the tips litaraly, as if they are different sizes, or that maybe 1 pipe is longer then the other. At that point you can contact RL, or just go to a local muffeler shop and they will fix it in about 15 minutes and charge you something in the range of $25-$35)

Yea mine too, and the hangers are SS too. With a steel pipe I could not bend them to ajust, I had to use a torch and heat it up prety hot at the elbow and then use the pipe to ajust, while a buddy held the rest of the pipe steady.

It gets deeper and less high pitched with time. Mine hung a little uneven also but didn't hit bumper.

Yeah it got deeper after time. Good exhaust for the price. The only thing I didn't like was the tips were uneven. Other than that no problems

Ya, I bought this exhaust cuz of the great price. I'm already used to the sound :chuckle: It actually sounds pretty deep to me right now. Deeper is always better though! My left tip almost touches the bumper, but my right tip actually sticks out more than my left.

i dont have the top speed, i have the greddy ti-c, but it has the same general set up in the way it sits (correct me if im wrong) and my sides were a little uneven but i did the same thing as sndtar and heated up the hangers a little, was an easy fix and now it couldnt be more perfect.

just make sure your like me and sndtar and proly most of us and RESPECT YOUR NEIGHBORS :) all my neighbors love my car and they always comment as i drive up the street (i live on the top of a cul de sac) about how its nice looking and sounding and i still only go about 10 mph up the street :)

+1 looks amazing. I'm jealous.

Gonna try the heating up the hangers thing. You guys are referring to those massive blocks of rubber right?

Don't worry, I'm very respectful. Basically, I just roll out of my neighborhood, which is just a culdesac connected to a bigger street.

I have the same exhaust. It was too load for me. I had them go back and fit the factory straight pipe with resonator on to it. Much better now. While they were add it they bent one of the sides so they fit more even.
